All program levels offer a second week of instruction, challenges, and fun with additional lessons, challenges, and events that promote critical thinking and push STEM knowledge and interest. Intermediate and advanced Arise camp students get the chance to compete at the VEX Summer Games robotic competition.
Arise Academy
A VEX robotics program by Beur Education
Summer Program
Annual Vancouver Vex Robotic Game since 2018
Program Highlights
This program will give students a foundational set of skills and knowledge in Science Technology Engineering Mathematics
(STEM) from which they can grow into a myriad of different interest areas such as aeronautics, engineering, architecture, applied sciences, robotics, and computer science. The Arise Academy Summer Technology program seeks to expose students to many different career options and areas of interest in the technology and sciences domains. Furthermore, this program will provide students with hands-on learning experiences in order to gain foundational skills and the confidence to further pursue STEM related areas of interest in future years.
Program Mission
We are looking for students with a passion for technology and a drive to be a lifelong learner. Each candidate must be willing to work in teams with other students from diverse background and cultures. Students at the end of the camp will have a new appreciation for technological solutions and innovative ideas. This is an excellent opportunity for students who wish to preview STEM programs in high school and post-secondary institution.
Junior Program
The Junior Program suits grades 3 to 5. It includes skill-appropriate instruction for small groups of students. This gives each camp attendee a more personal level of guidance for learning. The primary focus combines science and technology games that cleverly teach topics through fun.
Intermediate Program
The Intermediate Program for grades 5 to 9 offers more hands-on projects and the introduction of the VEX IQ robotics system. The focus on team projects extends to frequent challenges that foster communication and collaboration.
Advanced Program
The Advanced Programs for grades 10 to 12 introduce older teens to robotics in a comprehensive and entertaining way. No previous experience is needed to jump in, learn about high-tech developments, programming, and the VEX-EDR and V5 platforms. Computers, robots, and working together are the hallmarks of this camp.
